Defending Walbran Central Valley

This month, INLO traveled to Walbran Valley to observe the illegal industrial logging of its old growth rainforest.

For decades, logging companies have ravaged the dense old-growth ecosystem of the region, but on June 26, their operations were halted and the loggers were denied access to the Walbran Valley old-growth. The RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) were called but could not enforce against the blockade until Monday, forcing both industry and officers to stand down. This land is the ancestral, unceded territory of the Nuučaańuł people. Indigenous nations must unite against the settler occupation and its criminal invasion of our lands. It is our duty as Indigenous people to support the defense of the Walbran Valley against all capitalist exploitation.

The picture is clear: corrupt negligence on part of the local First Nations and the government of British Columbia has enabled these corporations to harm our sensitive ecosystems.

The solution? The abolition of Canada, the end of colonial imposition against First Nations, and the end to industrial logging on our lands.

Capitalism and settler colonialism must end for the progression of humanity.

The old-growth still stands!
