My lands are where my dead lie buried.
— Crazy Horse
On the evening of this day, September 5th, 1877, Chief Tȟašúŋke Witkó (Crzy Horse) would pass away at Fort Robinson in Nebraska from a fatal bayonet wound inflicted by a US Soldier.
Across Indian Country, and to the world, his struggles against colonialism will be remembered.
It is our responsibility as Indigenous peoples to carry on the struggles of our ancestors and carry forward a new world for the next generations to come.
